Sax and DJ: live saxophone over the set
The DJ plays the set and Jovan Pastar plays live saxophone over it, improvised, following the floor. It works with any DJ, a beach club's resident or the one you booked for the villa, and needs only a free input and a short sound check. No DJ yet? Book sax and DJ as one act.
How does live sax over a DJ set work?
The DJ carries the night and the saxophone plays over it, live. Nothing is pre-recorded and nothing is rehearsed: the sax listens to the track and answers it.

Sax over your DJ, or sax and DJ as one act?
If a DJ is already booked, the saxophone joins their set. If not, book both as one act: one booking, one sound check, and the sound system comes with it.

What does your DJ need to know?
Very little. Send them this list, or let Jovan settle it with them directly.
The set stays theirs
They play what they planned. The saxophone follows it, so nothing in the programme changes.
One free input
On the mixer or the sound system, for the saxophone's microphone, with a little space near the booth and power nearby.
No rehearsal
A short sound check before doors is all it takes.
Set times agreed beforehand
Settled with you and the DJ closer to the day, usually over WhatsApp, and flexible if the floor fills early.
Common questions
Does a saxophonist always need a DJ?
Not always. The saxophone plays over the music the room already runs on, usually a DJ set. If there is no DJ, book sax and DJ as one act and the music comes with it.
Can he play with our resident DJ?
Yes. Any DJ works, resident or booked for the night. The DJ plays their usual set and the saxophone follows it; the only thing to plan in is a short sound check before doors.
Is live sax over a DJ set too loud for dinner?
No. The set follows the room: over the aperitif and dinner it stays background music you can talk over, and it only gets louder when the floor asks for it. The volume runs through the venue or DJ system, so it is set there.
What does sax and DJ as one act include?
One booking for the whole evening: the DJ, the live saxophone and the sound system, with one sound check and one person to talk to from the first message to the last track.
Which events suit sax and DJ?
Beach club sunsets, yacht and villa parties, hotel bars and rooftops, corporate receptions and weddings: any night where a DJ carries the music and you want a live moment on top.

Have a DJ, or need one?
I read every inquiry myself and reply personally. Tell me whether you already have a DJ: if you do, I settle the set times and the sound check with them; if you don't, I tell you what the full act looks like for your night. Send the date and the venue.
Jovan is professional, talented, and incredibly versatile as a musician. He perfectly captured the relaxed summer atmosphere of the event and beautifully complemented it with his saxophone. Great sound, a friendly and charismatic presence, and simply a wonderful addition to the event. Highly recommended!
